This was one of my last projects, I needed something fast and easy. I found, however, that a career in origami is NOT in my stars. The fourteenth door

I dunno, Cat. With a little practice, I think you'd be great at origami. Love it! Dawn

I doubt a little practice would be enough seeing how much I cursed over this thing Today we are back in my familiar realm. The fifteenth door

Oh, this is a hard one. My first attempts with "gold" leaf and only one of three projects worked out. One I can't explain because it obviously involves chemistry and one just made me mad, whatever sense of the word you may prefer in this case, lol. The sixteenth door What? Why? When everything goes wrong and you finally don't care anymore and just want to stab something (I'll either keep this a reminder of what I'm capable of when getting annoyed or I'll pull out the pins and say goodbye to the apple which is the more probable scenario) Yay, it's a golden nut!

The golden nut is spectacular, Cat. Truly. But, we all want to know. Did you really repeatedly stab that poor apple with pins? My goodness! Honestly, though...I love that you did that, but I can't explain why. I guess because it's so raw and honest. Dawn

Those are pearl pins and they are long, so yes, I most definitely did. I was so frustrated and it kind of had a voodoo doll feel to it doing that.

I'll bet it was quite satisfying too. And, because I became side tracked by that, let me just say one more time how gorgeous that gold walnut shell is. You really did a nice job on it. Dawn

It was extremely satisfying at that point. After the first few I knew there were holes in the apple, so ... but now I'm thinking about pulling out all the pins and covering the holes with something prettier.

These too tested my patience, it was a long YouTube video. The little one is after the tutorial, the bigger one is based on it, but I used a different stitch and put my own touches on it. The seventeenth door

I just love the nutcrackers! Awesome job on those. The little tree is such a cute ornament and der Daken can't climb that one! The holly is gorgeous. It reminds me of the holly bushes we have in the backyard. The red beads are perfect as holly berries. Cat, I don't think anyone would object if you want to use that adorable snowman for the challenge. I'd encourage you to do that and then it's one less thing you have to do. Dawn
