Yes, your challenge this month is to take your inspiration from the stunningly beautiful peacock. You may use any materials or techniques you wish to make your submission for the challenge. Please post your completed work here by May 15, keeping in mind that we play loosely with our deadlines. At the end of the challenge, I will post all of your entries to a thread at Show and Tell. To give you some ideas of the many forms a peacock can take, here are some images to spark your creativity. Peacocks even come in white! Looking forward to seeing your take on a peacock. Knowing this group, we are going to see some fabulous entries! Daw

Irith, your waterfall earrings would have worked for this challenge. Can't wait to see what you do with this theme. Dawn

I've seen so many beaded and wire wrapped peacocks over the years that I really thought I wouldn't be able to make anything original. By accident and very unexpectedly I came upon a quite different approach now.

I love this topic. Have no idea if I can do it justice (or if I can manage it), but I intend to try.

Thanks, Michelle! It seems to be unanimous - it's hard not to love the shapes, textures and colors on a peacock. Look forward to having you in the challenge. I'm sure you'll come up with something brilliant! Dawn

Here's my cheating entry, maybe I'll manage another one as well, but I can't promise anything. The very colorful butterfly in the front is Aglais io or - the European peacock

Cat, I'm so sorry; I didn't see your post before now. I would hardly call that cheating, you've done just what a challenge is meant to challenge us to do - think outside the box and come up with something amazingly beautiful! That is just lovely, and with a name like Peacock Butterfly, I think you've been quite clever in using it as your inspiration. Plus, you've introduced me to a species of butterfly I wasn't aware of since we don't have them here. Dawn
