My daughter has noticed that I have been making jewellery. I don't make them to sell, as I'm still learning, but do like to try and work out how much I would need to sell things for, if I were to be commercially viable (the main thing is I need to be quicker and more consistent with my quality!). Anyway, my daughter (who is 8) decided that I should always make "one for her, one for me and one to sell"! So, I made her a bracelet - I figured it was a big hint! I then made a keyring for my Mum for her Mother's Day gift (she's not big on wearing jewellery). The turquoise pendant was made following instructions from Abby Hook's book "Wire Jewelry Masterclass". The heart links were made following a YouTube tutorial by CSL Designs.

I think you have a great talent for jewelry making. I love the necklace and bracelet and the nice color combinations of the beads in them. I wish my daughter made me a nice key ring...She is into Macrame now. Perhaps some other time...

Those are great. I bet your daughter is very happy with the bracelet. Selling or not, enjoy making whatever it is you want to make. I wish I was still learning 😁

That is such a sweet set! You did a great job on those hearts and your daughter is going to love wearing the bracelet that her mom made just for her. I think the two of you will be adorable wearing your matching bracelets. The key ring is a great gift too - useful, practical and pretty! Your bracelets would be perfect for the theme of our bi-monthly challenge that is currently running. The theme is "spring" and the only real requirement is that pastels be used in part of the design. The pretty beads you used easily fit that requirement and your bracelets feel very "springy" to me. Here is a link to the challenge thread: Spring ChallengeYou are welcome to join us and submit this design (or another) if you'd like. It's not a contest and there are no prizes; it's just a fun way to challenge ourselves to try new things and to stretch our creativity. Challenge pieces for the current challenge may be submitted any time between the start date (Feb 15) and the end date (April 15) although we sometimes play pretty loosely with the deadline if someone is running late. How lovely, all of them!
I can totally understand your daughter, by the way, a great plan.

Those heart links are fabulous! I struggle with making round ones. Very sweet. I think your daughter has the right idea.

Thank you, everyone, for your encouraging comments! I must admit I'm slightly obsessed with making jewellery at the moment!
Yes, my daughter is a genius... it's a good way to get your Mum to give you lots of jewellery!
I love the idea of the Spring Challenge, and I will take part. I'm working on something at the moment, which I will submit, if it works! It's a great way to get me to think about a design to fit a brief, and then problem solve to make it work!
Thank you, all! Sami

Sami, I'm so glad you will be able to join us in the Spring Challenge. Looking forward to seeing your challenge piece! I think everyone here understands the obsession of which you speak! I remember when I first started, I was so sleep deprived at work because I'd stay up into the wee hours making jewelry. Dawn
