I'm going to go easy on you guys with the challenge theme this time. Your challenge is to design and create jewelry that represents Spring. There is just one caveat - you must use pastel colors in your design. Your challenge pieces are due on April 15, 2021. Looking forward to seeing what your creative minds produce! Dawn

Pastels? I love the idea. I may need to order some pastels. Oh darn! LOL!

Good Morning! I finished my sakura inspired ring last night and thought I would share it as part of the Spring challenge! I love sakura and Japan, especially at this time of the year (very pleased to read the news that London will be planting a sakura walkway so we can also enjoy the cherry blossom season in the UK!) I adapted a 3D flower pattern from my copy of Wire Jewelry Masterclass to make the flower look a bit more like a sakura flower, then made up and added my own ring. The shape is not quite right for me yet, but I'm pleased that it came out almost the way I imagined! Sami x

That is beautiful, Sami! I definitely see the influence of cherry blossoms in this design and it just sings that Spring is in the air! I love the way it sits on your finger too, especially how it just reaches to your first knuckle. Great job and so glad you decided to join us! Dawn

What a wonderful idea! I love sakura, too.
I had to check, how much time I still have as I haven't got the slightest idea yet.

Same here, Cat. I'm hoping to start working on mine next week while we are at the new house. There is no tv there, so making jewelry would be a good evening activity. Dawn

Beautiful ring, Sami! It definitely speaks of Spring.
I have found some dyed lavender stone (agate) square beads, but that is as far as I’ve gotten.

Thank you, everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing all of your designs, too!
I've spent another day trying to practice the pointy bits on the sakura... I'm not sure it's possible in wire, or I haven't found the right technique yet! And my husband is better at it than me... argh!

Hope to have you join the challenge, Caroline! You'll get there, Sami. I thought I had a pretty good idea of what I was going to do, but now I'm thinking of going off in a different direction. Dawn

I have something springy, but there's only a little pastel in it. Picture coming up later!

It's snowing outside, it's windy, it's cold - and here's a burst of spring for you. Either that or it's some kind of fried green egg.

Thank you, Michelle! I had ripped up a stone necklace and knew I had this matching cab, so I thought I'd just go freeform with them.
