With several WIP jewelry pieces in limbo, I decided to bang out another copper tray. An attempt to give the inside of the tray a leather-ish grain texture, and the edges a straight tree-bark-ish texture, with cross graining on the corners. LoS patina aging. I need to keep telling myself, anneal, anneal, and anneal some more! And my stamping still needs to progress. Brad

The "leather" texture is really beautiful!

Thank you. These little trays go from cutout to patina and done fairly quick. The trouble is. They keep disappearing as gifts. Brad

Well, if I were closer, another one might disappear, lol!

It looks good, but doesn't look like copper...

Love that texture and I if I lived closer another one might disappear as well! Yes, annealing is your friend, that is for sure. Dawn

It looks good, but doesn't look like copper... Thank you, for sharing. Some of that is not having a good light box. I should have run pic through a filter to bring more of the copper into view. After I patina, I steel wool back to bring out some copper highlights. Sometimes more, sometimes less. It’s tricky and a bit random as to my results. I have not put a finish on it, so on occasion I let the piece rest, I ponder a while, then see where my mood takes me. Leave it be, or bring more copper forward. Admittedly, with a house full of arts and crafts period copper pieces, I do tend to give it that look of age and that period of invoking age and darkening. Your comment has inspired me to make a few with no patina…maybe a flame patina or peanut oil patina? Brad

Rather than the above ramble, here is another pic revealing more copper. Brad

I’m with the others, it’s a good thing we are all so far away these little trays might disappear even faster. 😄 Love the textures, Brad!
