Luckily I still had some pearls in the right size for Henriette who always has to do the babysitting when the other hens have fun in town.

Oh my! Poor Henriette. She already looks a bit overwhelmed!

Thank you, Dawn I am so in love with the little hens. Melusine (she looks like Eulalia, the first one I made) made it to the Netherlands today, to the lady who makes them.

Henriette has a huge job! But she looks to be up to the task. 😄

Thank you, Michelle! She insists on getting paid more in popcorn from the movie theater, though.

Such a small chick among all these eggs. She seems to feel cozy in there.

She has a very soft and cozy layer of "hay" in there

That is so funny. Henriette will travel to a lady in Texas who tends to 100 chicken all of whom have a name. Let those eggs hatch, they will all just be fine!

I saw that many people love live chicken as pets. As for Henrietta, I believe she is going to be the queen of the harem in the Texas lady's collection.

You do hear it a lot these days, but if they have them in a garden in the city, you often hear that at least one neighbor is complaining, even if the garden is huge enough for them and there is no rooster. There was a time when it was quite normal for people to have their own chickens.

I know. In the Fifties we lived in a house with a neigbour who had chickens that ran freely across the garden. There was a lot of smelly dirt, and ever since, I haven't liked them very much. But there are beautiful ones too with amazing colors that I see on the net, and it is nice to watch them, but not as pets. Henrietta is a sweet handmade hen, therefore I like her.
