Cat, that chicken basket is one of the cutest things I've seen in a long time. Congratulations on the sale of those darling earrings; you just never know when work is going to sell. Love the dagger (to me it represents light and dark not just in color but in shape as well) and the bracelets work really well for this challenge too. Beautiful selection, Irith, just beautiful. I like how you ordered them starting with light and working your way to dark; that really worked for this theme. Michelle, all of your pieces really work for this challenge. The way the light and dark strands alternate in the first necklace makes that beauty perfect for this theme. The octopus is amazing and I don't think I've seen the third piece before - love the dark green; it fits really well here too. Dawn

Thank you very much, Dawn! The lady who makes the chicken asked me about a trade for Eulalia, but as she's gone already, I'm going to make her another basket and I will get more chicken beads. It made me really happy that she liked her so much that she wants her own.

Thanks everybody! I guess I’ve found my niche. Dawn, the 3rd piece was made for a friend. Green is her favorite color and she chose the cab.

She chose well; both the cab and the designer! Dawn

Not on the last day, though! Of course your black and white on grey paintings are absolutely perfect and I have always been in love with both of them, but all of them are beautiful. I'm very partial to the lunaria necklace, but you alreaday know that! Do you still do any fold forming, by the way?

Sounds like a great deal for both of you! Dawn She is happy with the picture I sent her and I know I will be very happy with the chickens, so yes On the right is Melusine which happens to fit the topic as she looks like her sister. Can you tell, though, that there are a few small differences (you can't see one of them and one of them you wouldn't be able to notice although you see it )?

Thank you, Cat! I haven't done any form folding for quite a while, but it's something I want to do again. It always comes down to the same thing - lack of time. Between the time I spend on learning new techniques and skills and keeping up with the home renovation projects, there just isn't enough of it. My hope is that one day the home improvement will be done and that I'll be spending a lot more time in the studio combining all of the techniques and skills I've learned to put into designs. Aww, that's so cute, Cat! The differences I see are that the beads aren't exactly the same. On one the chicken seems to be looking off to the side while the other is looking straight ahead. The other thing I noticed is that the wire wrap on the basket handles is different. One is wrapped at an angle to the handle while the other is more wrapped straight around it. Oh, and that the nest is slightly different in the left one compared to the right. The basket colors don't look exactly the same either. One is more of a copper color and the other is more of a silvery gray. Dawn

They do look in different directions and their beaks are not the same. Melusine's basket is a tad bigger and she sits deeper in her differently colored nest. What you can't see is that I didn't use the same white for the seed bead I needed to hold the wire on top of the bead holes. What I really wanted to know was if you could tell that the copper is not the same. The one on the left was oxidized to almost black and then polished, the other was not oxidized as long and then polished. I didn't even notice the wrapping on the handle myself, Dawn, not just the angle, but also that the longer handle has been wrapped almost twice as much.
You have a very good eye, and to me, it's the confirmation that really none of my baskets are alike (although I try hard to be exact when I make earrings). Thank you for that!

Dawn, All your dark/light are beautiful, however my favorites are the two top painted ones.

Thank you, Irith. Both chickens are dotted all over, but you can only see two of the dots from the front on the one on the right because she's deeper in her nest than the other one.
