I wish you success in both Dawn - finding a different name for vitrage (I'd be glad to learn it too) and with the copper soldering.

I have a tube of copper solder, but never tried it yet. I thought I read one time that the copper tinted solder will turn back to silver if fired too hot??? I am learning to do more "sweat" soldering, as solder silver on copper etc. saves solder flowing out beyond edge of silver-if you are careful with flux. Brad

Dawn, this is just an ugly little jump ring, but this is the only picture of my first and so far last attempt with the copper solder (the one from the blog post I linked to) using a torch. The solder looks like very hard wire. As you can see, this looks all copper. The solder is at the top.

I had sort of set aside trying copper solder due to being busy with other things, but now you two have got me thinking about it again. Brad, the copper solder turning black is what I'm concerned about too. If I'm going to do it, I want the solder to stay copper colored otherwise what's the point. Cat, your jump ring is what I'm after. I can't see where the copper solder is because it's all the same color. That's exactly the kind of results I'm hoping for. I think it's time to re-visit copper solder and try it. That's the only way I'm going to learn about it. Dawn
