Ok, I just remembered I read somewhere that before starting a beading project, ya gotta stretch out the thread slightly or over time, it'll loosen. Is that true?? Bc I didn't stretch the fireline threads when I made those Russian Leaf earrings.

That only applies to nylon threads, and I never do it with them and I've never had a problem. The little tugs I give it while beading to tighten things up stretch it just fine.
You don't need to stretch Fireline at all - it won't stretch, actually!

Oh, okay, then I have nothing to worry about. And it is true, it is stretched out a bit when tugging them in place while beading. Never thought of that. Thanks for your insight, Cindy!

I do stretch my nylon threads, Nymo especially. I had pieces I made when I started out that grew and grew. A bracelet that now fits my ankle.
So hence I always stretch. I think Cindy could be the exception, rather than the rule, but she is a very experienced beader and knows her tension well..
Certain stitches will stretch more than others, but really to be safe Ramona, I would stretch, it doesn't take long and could save you a little heartache.

Either that, or I just pull harder when I bead. I do tend to go through the beads more than once, and often from different directions. That could make a difference!

Ok, thank you, then I'll start stretching the nymo threads. I wouldn't want them loosening up after some time, especially if I give away as a gift.
