Our next challenge was inspired by work posted at Show and Tell by Cat and the resulting conversation some of us had in that thread. Your challenge is to create a design that is based on the moon, stars, or the moon and stars. You can use any materials and techniques that you like. Your challenge deadline is June 15 (although we play loosely with our deadlines). Please post your entry to this thread by then or thereabouts. Looking forward to seeing what this talented and creative bunch comes up with this time! Dawn

Being as obsessed with night scenes as I am, I might answer this with a big YES. You know, I may cut up an old bracelet of my own that has technical flaws and remake it. My loom has been so terribly neglected since somecat moved in.

Hmmmm. I’m nearly done with my moon and Star project that started as Christmas and then became the Rip It project. But I love moon and stars, so I’ll think of something. 🤣

I am getting there and I have to say that so far I am very happy with my project, also because I really have fallen in love with the dark blue hex beads for night scene backgrounds. They will probably become a staple in my beading world.

Won't be long. Just putting the backing on and beading the edge. Then I will have to decide on a bail/chain solution.

Gorgeous, Michelle! You totally nailed both challenges! I really like the way you added the rows of tiny beads across the moon. Can't tell for sure if that is to secure the moon or simply decorative, but either way, I love that! Nicely done! Dawn

It's as wonderful for this challenge as it is for the old one Dawn, the rows are to draw the beads in as the beads won't sit as perfect on an inward curve. I also learned that on one of my first pieces. It was the perfect save and design choice, Michelle! Isn't it great how a necessity sometimes turns out to be a design inspiration?

My piece is finished except for the bail/chain. I'm still not sure what to do, that's the one disadvantage of freeform.

Thanks for the explanation, Cat. I would never have figured that out on my own since my knowledge is so limited in this area. I have no doubt you'll figure out the perfect chain solution for your piece. I can almost hear your mind percolating. Happy to be able to say that I have an idea... Dawn

I have finished my Moon Hare! The pendant is inspired by the actual legend of the Moon Hare, but also by all my own bunnies, a book, and a movie. If you are interested, the story is on my blog.

Ooooooo, Cat. I love it! The green moon is mesmerizing and that bunny is perfect. It looks like it took some thought and planning to have it come out so perfectly. I will definitely check out your blog post. You know, I always thoroughly enjoy reading your blog, but sometimes I get caught up in life's events and I forget. Thank you for the gentle nudge. Dawn
