Dawn, I have a friend who paints on all her collection of disks and vinile records. She doesn't melt them. The result is amazing but not three dimensional . I remember I used to try to melt plastic yogurt containers, add glass paints and make jewelry with them. I gave the idea up some time later. Simply Couldn't take the smell of burned plastic (thought it might be posonous too).
However - the flowers you show here are very beautiful!

Cat, there is still plenty of time if you want to work on something else, but I'd still like to see the pin. No pressure here! You are a free spirit; you've always followed your own path when it comes to your work. Irith, that is interesting about your friend painting her cds and records. Does she still play them or are they strictly for art purposes? I do know what you mean about heating up plastic. I made these in my oven because I couldn't wait to see what happened, but that's not something I want to start doing on a regular basis. I think I'm going to buy a used toaster oven at a thrift store or second hand shop and use it exclusively for my art/crafting experiments. I could also use it outside which would solve the ventilation issue. Thank you, I'm glad you like them! Dawn

With it going on a flat pin base, I couldn't bead the typical long shape, and after I had started the base for the leaves, I kept it simple aka no individual petals. Told you it was humble

Humble, are you kidding? I love it! It's so cheerful and happy and bright and it just sings "Spring." The minute I laid eyes on it, I found myself smiling. Ya done good, Cat. Dawn
