... and then it became a head, my first needle felted human head. Poor lady has a big nose, but it could have been worse for a first attempt done in the middle of the night. I doubt I'll ever be good at needle felting, but it's liberating to poke roving and that's good enough for me!

Cat, you are too modest. I love all of your needle felt creations and the jewelry you made with needle felt is amazing. Your lady's head is sweet. She reminds me of someone's grandma or favorite eccentric aunt. Dawn

Thank you so much, Dawn, you are very kind. I wrote this in my blog post "To me the lady looks like an aging diva, a character actress, no doubt, who watches her old movies in her private home cinema - wait, we already had that in "Sunset Blvd." or the Columbo episode "Forgotten Lady", only those ladies didn't have quite as grandmotherly hairstyles ... but hey, maybe she was an early star on the stage, not the silver screen, and maybe she would have made a nice protagonist in an episode of "Alfred Hitchcock presents"?" So you see I made both associations as well, the grandma and the eccentricity

It seems a perfect piece of work to me. You gave her a lot of personality! She reminds me of a friend of my aunt's from very long ago...but the expression on her face is very much sweeter:)

Thank you, Irith! I think using pastels for her eyes and lips makes her look nicer

Thank you, Michelle!

Cat, I love how we kind of juxtaposed our impressions of eccentric, grandma, aunt and aging screen star. Now, I'm thinking of Betty Davis and Joan Crawford. Although, your lady is much nicer than they were. Dawn

My mother were a "Gibson Girl" hairdo for decades, until she could no longer manage it day to day. While still alive at 95 the care home keeps it very short and manageable. Your face, brought back this wonderful memory. Thanks, brad

Brad, I am really glad that this has brought back a good memory for you, thank you for telling me. Isn't this what it is all about, giving a bit of joy in some way?
