Due to the move, it seems like forever since I have posted any work, but I finally finished this necklace today. The pendant was finished a few months ago and has been waiting for a chain. The stone is an agate that has been dyed purple. It's an oddly shaped piece which probably accounts for why I found it in a scrap box at a rock shop. Originally, I was going to wrap it vertically, but after studying it, I decided to wrap it horizontally. The beads are amethyst. The chain is handmade and let me tell you after a while making those links became mind numbing! All of the copper wire has been lightly oxidized. Thanks for looking! Dawn

Absolutely gorgeous, Dawn! I love that you took this beautiful scrap and gave it new life. Of course it doesn’t hurt that it’s violet is my favorite color. It’s a beautiful design, and the chain is perfect.

Thank you so much, Michelle! My sore fingers especially appreciate your comments about the chain! It's surprising sometimes how many unique and wonderful items can be found in scrap boxes and piles of discards. I always check out those things first. Dawn

It's beautiful, Dawn! What a lovely agate, it definitely was the right decision to use it horizontally and your wrap is so clever. Your chain is perfect for it. I could totally see this on a priestess in a fantasy movie.

Oh Dawn! Beautiful piece and it seems to go very well with the Amethyst beads. Love that it is horizontal!

Nice work. While in Oregon, soon, I am hoping to find some "sea glass" during our days near the beach. The big find appears to be the red glass nuggets. Then I will try to craft a piece of jewelry with it. Brad

Thank you, Brad! I'm jealous of your upcoming sea glass hunt. There is a beach not far from where I live where people can pick up agates, but I haven't been there yet. It's on my to do list for sure. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with your sea glass. Dawn

I love sea glass. I have quite a few pieces I made with them and still have boxes with various colors. Perhaps I will get back to making some more jewelry with them.

I know how that goes, Irith. It happens to all of us. One of these days, you'll want to work with sea glass again. Dawn
