I had the upper part of the shell done a few weeks ago and then abandoned ship after I struggled with the legs. Blame Dawn for making me finish it He's called Ludwig after an online friend's tortoise.

I will happily take the blame for that cutie! Ludwig is absolutely adorable! Glad to seeing you doing felting again, Cat. I'm not kidding when I say that you have a natural talent for it. Dawn

Thank you so much, Dawn! The felting stuff is in an extra container and I always have to get it all out, that's soooo difficult! I think my main problem is that I don't have the right ideas for my skill level yet, but I'm not going to give up. I don't even know why I started making a shell.

Your muse, Mabel told you to make a shell... Well, you know what we like to say around here - practice, practice and more practice to reach the skill level you're aiming for! Dawn

Mabel knows me better than I do myself! I deserve getting that thrown right back at me, I guess. Wire and beads seem to be easier for me to play with intuitively which really is kind of interesting. I can also rip most of it up more easily. Maybe I'm blocked by the thought that if I have a piece of felt I have to throw it away completely?

Cat, it's my job to keep you on your toes. I did not know that felt could not be re-felted and re-used. Having learned that, I can see why you might hesitate to experiment with it. Dawn

Thank you, Caroline and Michelle! ^^ Dawn, if it's not felted tightly, you may be able to pull some of it apart, but I tend to attack it with all my frustrations set free

Sounds like a great plan of attack to me. No wonder all of your critters are so darn cue! Dawn

Thank you, Gayle!
He's riding on top of two Steiff tortoises now. I had a friend at school who had a tortoise called Max. One day a small tortoise turned up in the garden. They couldn't find out where she had come from, so they kept her and called her Sunny. Max used to get free "run" in the garden and Sunny often rode him, it looked very cute. I remember she still had them 30 years after I met them first.
