Don't ask me, I don't know why. I wanted to try and weave some lips, and from there, well, it's what you see. Although I noticed I have to bend the one eyebrow back a bit on the inside, it got crooked when I put it in the frame - where it won't stay, that was just for an easier picture. The lampwork eyes are beads by Melissa, by the way. I miss her beads!

With the glass eyes it reminds me of ancient Egyptian death masks because some of them had glass eyes, too. It's about 4 inch.

That's really cool, Cat. I am impressed with your evolving wire work!
Love the eyes. I miss Melissa's beads, too. I still have a few left and I'm hoarding them.

Thank you, Gayle! I'm really just playing with outlines more than with the technique itself, but it's fun, anyway!
Yes, I still have a few and I'm usually sitting on them like a big old dragon.

That is way cool. It reminds me of those ancient masks from various cultures that are on display in museums. Maybe it will turn up in a museum one day, Cat! Dawn

Thank you, Dawn! I finally got a bag of bird sand. It's sitting here in a frame that the cats keep knocking over, but my vague plan really is to put sand in the frame as if the mask is an archeological treasure. I guess I'm still a little afraid to glue the sand down in case I mess up. You know glue and me. Maybe in my Christmas vacation.

That's a cool idea, Cat. Maybe you could do a practice frame/sand prototype before doing one with the actual mask. You'd probably learn a lot about what works and what doesn't. I do know what you mean about being afraid to mess something up when there is a lot of time and work in it. Dawn
