I am Mercy Lewis and found this community/board totally by luck!
I'm at home a lot due to some health issues, and decided to rekindle some of my other skills, like crochet, jewelry making, knitting and sewing. I had never heard of needle tatting but ran across needle tatting while looking for crochet pattern ideas. This gave me a new purpose in life, so to speak.
My new goal is to learn crafts that are becoming lost arts and, in doing so, restore a bit of "grace" to modern life.
I purchased a DVD from Handy Hands and things are coming together. I just need to practice and create my own patterns, eventually. I've settled on needle tatting, for now, because it is easier for me to visualize. I plan to add shuttle techniques after I've created a few patterns using needle techniques.
