I love doing this technique. It is so fun to see it come together! This blood red stone is from a bead store in Vermont. They had a big basket of polished stones that I spent some time digging through and this is one of many that I selected. Had no idea what I was going to do with it until it occurred to me that netting might be a good option. The frame wire that the netting is attached to is two strands of wire that have been twisted together with a drill and I added a couple of coiled copper beads that are also made of twisted wire for an additional design feature. Thanks for looking! Dawn

I always thought that netting is the best for tumbled stones. The coiled beads are great with that and I also think this has a very unisex look.
My opinion on the stone is that it's tiger iron if I'm not wrong about the darker spots in the stone.

Thank you so much! Cat, I agree about netting being a good way to capture stones that haven't been cut. Wire wrapping doesn't always go so well with odd shapes. Dawn

The color of the wire and the stone go very well together. Very nice!

Haven't done netting for ages, did some wrapping last month though. This one looks very good, love the coils you added, gives the pendant more body.

I agree with everyone else, especially Riorita. There's something rich and elegant about copper and red. And your netting is perfect. Doesn't it work out that you need to sift through lots of stuff to find exactly what you want?

Thank you, Sue! I have a whole bag of polished stones from Vermont, so you may be seeing more netting in the future. I love watching it come together as I work. Dawn

Thank you very much, Caroline! We've been busy with the Independence Day weekend the past few days and I am really looking forward to getting back in the studio to play with more of these polished stones. Dawn
