When working with cabochons, I like to try various stones with the same jewel design. I have recently made a new open ring, with an old design of mine, where I solder a spiral on one end, and a natural cab on the other. This time with a Pink Tourmaline cabochon. This is the older one with Labradorite: The new one with a Pink Tourmaline:

Beautiful, Irith! I'm partial to the Labradorite ring, although the Pink Tourmaline is gorgeous, too!
Decisions, decisions.

As Gayle, I lean more to the labradorite. But I love them both.

I love labradorite and I love pink tourmaline, but in this case it's the tourmaline for me. I love how the color pops!

Thank you Carina and Cat. I simply love Pink and Fuchsia colored stones...when I think of it, I love all colors

What a great design. I can see why you would repeat the design with different stones. Both are beautiful, but like Cat, the tourmaline just pops.

Thank you Michele. I think I will use more stones and various shapes for this design. I intend to try it with square and free form shapes too. I only have to be careful not to let the stones compete with the spiral.

The tourmaline is exquisite - that color is amazing. Beautiful and unique rings, Irith. The first looks larger and more masculine than the tourmaline ring so I can see this design with it's size variations would make a fantastic wedding set. Dawn

Thank you very much Caroline. Thank you too Dawn, great idea to suggest a wedding set for these two rings. Something to think about.

A big wow for the pink tourmaline! Although the labradorite one is lovely the pink definitely stands out.
