This purple pansy was painted on to a heart shaped component using acrylic paint which was then sealed with resin. The heart had four round indentations on the back, so I painted a small yellow pansy in the center and filled the others with purple glass that I obtained by smashing some purple seed beads with a hammer. These were also filled with resin. The pendant is suspended from brass chain and links made of Swarovski Elements amethyst and violet bicones. Thanks for looking! Dawn

Very, very pretty, Dawn!!! I love how you smashed the seed beads for the back. You're so clever!
I love pansies.

Thanks, Gayle! My first thought was purple glitter, but I didn't have any and that led to the seed bead smashing. Dawn

Thank you, Cat! I admit I thought of you and Caroline when typing "seed bead smashing" and hesitated to include it in the description. I hope it wasn't too graphic or distressing to read that! Dawn

Beautiful work of art. It is obvious you made both the front and back with love!

Dawn, that is exquisite. I can see wearing the back as the front. Beautiful detail.

That's pretty! I want to smash some seed beads now and see what I can make with it. I have a lot of them and don't do anything with seed beads.

Thanks, Claudia! If you do any seed bead smashing, be sure to wear eye protection. Some of those little suckers fly when hit. They make really pretty glitter though; kind of remind me of tiny mosaic pieces. Cat, maybe we can think of it as altering the seed beads in order to turn them into an art supply rather than seed bead smashing. Dawn

I would put them in a Ziploc freezer bag and use a mallet!
