I found a metal leaf at the Curiosity Shoppe. I called it filigree, for lack of a better term, because of the open spaces on the back. I painted a leaf on a piece of paper, which I then cut to the proper shape and affixed it to the metal leaf. It was sealed on both sides with resin and hung from a vintage brass chain. I used varying shades of green to look like sunlight dappling through the leaves of a tree on the back of the painting. The dappling pattern shows through the open spaces of the metal leaf component. Thanks for looking! Dawn

I love it. I bet the leaf almost looks like stained glass when the light hits it. The chain looks great with it.

Thank you, Michele and Gayle! Michele, it does have kind of a cool glow to it and I am so glad to read that you like the chain because I wasn't sure about whether it worked or not. Dawn

I love both the leaf pendant and the chain, very creative thinking.

I love what you are doing with the components you find (is this one also from the curiosity shop?)! So creative and beautiful.

Thank you so much, Carina and Cat! Yes, I got the leaf at the curiosity shop, Cat. Just love going in there and browsing through the bins of parts. The owner recognizes me now and last time he let me rummage through the box of the "good stuff" that he keeps under the counter. It contains the things he's keeping for his own projects so that made me feel pretty special! Dawn

Ooo, that's pretty. That sounds like an interesting method, paper and resin.

Thank you, Claudia! The paper has to be sealed with something like modge podge or elmers glue before pouring the resin. Otherwise the resin soaks into the paper and ruins the artwork. Luckily, I did not find this out the hard way; I read it on a resin forum. Would have been really mad if I'd ruined any artwork! Dawn

Beautiful painted pendant. I believe I would wear it both sides.

I love the fact that it is equally beautiful on both sides! I seem to have an issue with pendants staying the right way and love pieces where it doesn't matter.
