Dawn, what a perfect result from resin! Not to mention the sweet elephant painting. Who can resist baby elephants? What did you use for resin and where did the bezels come from since I intend to make an exact copy of this...

Thank you, Gayle. You and your comments are appreciated no matter when they come! Sue, I used Ice Resin. Very easy stuff to work with and hardly any bubbles to worry about. Now the bezel, that might not be so easy. It's an old, vintage component from a local shop that sells pretty much nothing but old, vintage parts and pieces. Browsing his shop and rummaging through the bins is like searching for buried treasure and about a 1000 times more fun! He also has intact pieces and a very interesting display in the shop of jewelry through the decades dating back to the 1800's. But, you can try! Dawn

Dawn, Art Beads has a daily article and would you believe today it was Ice Resin? They were showing off resin colorants. I remember the term "self doming" from the polymer clay forum.

What a fun coincidence, Sue! Once I'm feeling like I have a pretty good understanding of resin, colorants are next on my list. Still trying to master the doming technique - I over poured the first few and the resin ran over the sides of the bezel rather than forming a pretty dome. The last batch was a lot better! Dawn

Just love this pendant Dawn! I adore elephants anyway and having a mom and her baby is just so adorable! Wish I could paint like that! Karin

I have always admired your painted jewelry and wondered why you stopped showing us more. I love elephants too, and this pendant is most beautiful!

Awww, thank you Irith! I had a lot of personal/family issues to deal with the past few years that resulted in painting being a low priority. Things have finally settled down and I didn't realize how much I'd missed making the little paintings until I recently started up again. Planning to have much more to show in the future - hope y'all don't get sick of them! Dawn
