I sometimes have a feeling that my jewelry needs a change of direction from time to time. Instead of ancient coins, tribal jewelry etc (which I am not giving up yet), to freshen up a little, I made a pair of golden earrings with tiny disks soldered in a freeform row on the ear wires. The ear wires are blackened silver and the disks are 22k goldplated brass. Thank you for watching.

A very cool design.
Irith, you don't have to do either, or. Please don't abandon the ancient coin and tribal pieces. You have a talent for creating beautiful and wonderful pieces that do the artifacts justice.

Irith, I don't think your jewelry needs a change of direction. If you like making these pieces, keep making them, you are so good at it! If it's you who needs a change every, now and then, go for something else in between. These earrings are a great example, a fun design that will work for any occasion

Irith, I love your ancient coins, sea glass and tribal designs, but I understand wanting to try something new. Sometimes, we get tired of making the same kind of things and doing something different does keep us fresh. Having said that, these earrings are a really fun, lighthearted design and I can imagine that you really enjoyed creating them. They make me think you were in a playful mood and the sense of whimsy shines through. Sweet! Dawn

You know I love your ancient artworks but i love these too. I myself hop from one style/technique to another, I found an image a while ago that exactly represented me, It was of my brain on shuffle as from an ipod, can't find it anymore.

WOW ladies.Thank you! I know I will keep on with my own old stuff, but I got up one morning and thought to myself I would like to try something lighter. As I had a piece of brass, I sawed it into tiny disks and played with them, created two pairs of earrings and a necklace. I suppose I shall upload them here in the future, but it was a fun day and very productive. I own a few natural Opal stones which I plan to make jewelry with, and as I do not wish to leave my daughter with a headache what to do with them when I am gone (she is very talented but not in the artistic direction - yet) so you will probably see me again with my Irith stuff. Promise! Carina, when you unshuffle your beautiful brain, I am sure you will find what you've been looking for, and show us a stunning piece of jewelry, as you always do!! Love and Success to you!!

In a way I like my chaotic mind, its what let me make the things I do. At my place my boyfriend and daughter are afraid something would happen to me too, they would have to order a small container to get rid off all my beads, wires and stones. At the moment I'm forbidden to buy new beads, they want me to use the ones I have, little do they know that I ordered 1000 bicones (found a cheap vendor at Ebay) again last week.

Oooh! I can relate to all of this!
Irith, I love every direction you take. Your artistic expression is wonderful, no matter what your direction. I love these earrings, along with a lot of other pieces you've made. If I had to make a choice, I'd be in big trouble.
If we're talking a bit about disposing of our jewelry making supplies...I'm with Carina. My hubby would have to rent a small (medium) U-Haul to get rid of mine!
My current addiction is lampwork beads. I keep seeing ones I can't live without.

Gayle, thank you so much for your most kind reference to my jewelry. You make my day! (although it is evening here right now!). Carina and Gayle, I am so glad to find out I am not the only one with this kind of trouble..
