I need to order a 100 ft spool of 2mm SS chain. I'd prefer oxidized. I have ordered spools from Silver City link and Rio Grande link in the past. I am looking at this one from Halstead but don't know if it is medium weight linkThe prices vary quite a bit. Silver City's price is actually higher than their website. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want a medium weight chain.

This is always what sucks about buying chain and comparing them. Rio will tell you the gauge of the wire if you call them. I'm not sure about the others. You could try.
The only way to know is to compare the gauge of the wire. That will tell you it's thickness. I will tell you that less then $3 a foot seems low so I'd suspect it's a not a medium weight chain but the thinner lighter chain.
I'm not exactly sure we would define medium the same way but to me medium is right around 20 to 18 gauge.
20ga .032" .812mm 18ga .0403" 1.02mm
I tend to think that 1mm is the perfect wire thickness for chain.

Thank you Kevin. I used Halstead's Live Chat and asked about the weight. She said they usually note if it's lightweight, which it wasn't. I realize that's subjective though.
The International Gem and Jewelry Show is going to be in Houston this weekend. Silver City will be there in the wholesale section. I think I'll see what they have before I make up my mind.
