A heads up for any of you who ship US international. Even if you have your form filled out when you go to the post office, the clerk now has to enter everything into the computer rather than just scan the form. Most of the clerks hunt and peck, so it takes forever for them to enter everything. To save a little time, you can create an account with the USPS and fill out your form online. webapps.usps.com/customsforms/welcome.jsp You have to have an account though, or it won't be in the post office computer. Earlier in the week, I shipped something that had an address that was unbelievably long. I thought I was never going to get out of the post office. That's when I decided to set up an online account. I wish paypal shipping would allow first class international. They did for about a week, right before last Christmas, but it had some bugs in it and they discontinued it.

Yeah, it would be great to get PayPal to do 1st class int. We use the on line shipping assistant for 1st class int. We had downloaded the software and it seems every week they update it and end up with more bugs in it. I can't even get the downloaded version to work on the computer anymore. But filling it out on line seems to work OK and no standing in line. Stamps.com allows you to even print out the postage with your PC and maybe others allow it too.

I'm canadian and I've always had to go to the post office LOL I do mailing two days a week, my post office is pretty good. It's fairly fast if I have my end of the paperwork filled out ahead of time.

I mailed to France a couple of weeks ago and didn't have that problem.
Endicia will allow you to print out customs forms. I haven't tried USPS, mostly because the labels are bigger than my parcels.

Andrea, I think this is something that just started in the last week or so. Maybe, you'll be fortunate and your PO won't get the memo.

I don't ship international very often, but this is good information to have for the future. Thanks, Michele! Dawn
