Since the move back in with my family I have little to no space to work in, that doesn't bother me since I can work just about anywhere.
What does get under my skin is I have no set place or way to organize my stock! I'm currently having to hunt all over the house to locate "Stella" that beautiful cotton lace choker in the victorian style i did a lil while back because that piece along with one of my new pieces have been bought. I haven't seen Stella since the day I made her... back when I had space at the apartment I could just put things on the wall to keep track, here I'm not allowed to put anything on the way and the majority of my supplies are still kept in the garage I have a folding square card table as my work space that I could stand something up on, but what?
How do you organize your stock? Please share some pictures so I can get some ideas, Thanks!

Something I've been thinking of putting together (because I can't mount things to the wall in my apartment either) is basically... You know those pegboards you can buy at home depot?
My idea is to get one (or three and create a tri-fold) of those and put long rods in the pegs. Then I'd use alligator clips on the pegs to attach ziplock baggies to to the rods. This way I won't have to pull everything off the rods to get to one at the back, I'll just be able to detach it. I came up with this for my bead stash (which is currently kept in ziplocks put in several grocery bags) but I could see it working for finished stock as well.
I haven't actually put it together yet so I can't say how much it would cost or how well it would work >.< At this point its just an idea in my head.

Thats a good idea. For now I emptied out one of my bead storage boxes with the little compartments and labeled it all for my different stock.

Jane, you are very creative, that sounds like a good idea. If you set it up, be sure to take a picture and show.

The peg boards sounds like a great idea. If you go forward with it, please do post pics! I've yet to find a way to organize my finished pieces or my stock that really works for me, so I'll be watching this thread for ideas. Dawn

You know those pegboards you can buy at home depot? I use a pegboard to organize all of the supplies I buy at the store and it works great! It's like browsing my own little store. I am the type of person who needs to see everything, so those cute boxes that some people use don't work for me. Now if I could just find a way to use the pegboard for my glass rods!
