So Spoonflower’s latest challenge is warm minimalism. I wrote a post about it here: www.michellesuzanneartworks.com/blog/the-value-of-entering-challenges. I was so far outside of my comfort zone. But here’s what I came up with. Later, I continued to play with color palettes that were foreign to me: This palette came from another Spoonflower challenge. I thought I would hate it, but to my surprise I kind of like it. Now I have 5 designs using this palette. If you like to vote in these contests, voting is open until March 12. You can vote for as many designs as you like. And don’t feel obligated to vote for mine. I don’t think mine is as minimalistic as it should be, and I’m not all that wrapped up in scoring well. I do enjoy expanding my horizons. Here is the voting link: www.spoonflower.com/design-challenge/warm-minimalism-2024-03/vote

Nice, Michelle! My favorites are the orange/black and the blue/green. The pattern reminds me of camping in the woods. I think it's the triangles because they are the same general shape as pine trees. Dawn

Thanks so much, Dawn! And very cool! I guess that’s the cool thing about abstracts is that each person sees from their own experiences. To me it reminds me of the Nevada desert with their stark mountains and the roads where you can see forever. But strangely I didn’t think of that until after it was finished.

Before reading Dawn's reply, I had the same thought, pine trees, just without the camping part. My favorite is the first color palette.

Oh, and the link to your blog post isn't working, there are extra characters at the end in the link. This is the correct one.
