So I've come across some beads in tubes from several years ago. They aren't marked size wise and I've forgotten, have no receipts for them either. However, in working with the Russian Leaf earrings, I can see some could be 11/0 but a few are smaller. I guess I shoulda been more organized when they were first purchased and labeled the size, but I didn't. Is there are way to tell sizes of seed beads? I guess I can use the 11/0 as a gauge and go from there, but what if I'm wrong and, if I am, will it really throw off any future projects? How silly is this question?!?!!

Not silly at all! Beads from different manufacturers, even when labeled as 11°s, are all different sizes, and if a pattern is very precise, it can throw things off. For most patterns, it's not enough to matter - but for some, it's a disaster! Your best bet is to test for size, especially on bracelets and rings, to check that it's working up the same as the pattern. You may need to make a few changes if the beads are smaller or larger.

Adjustments, adjustments, okay. Thanks for the suggestion, always appreciated. I wish they'd come up with a tool that measures seed beadies, would make life simpler. Guess I'm just used to the tool I have for measuring regular beads...now wouldn't that be nice!

You can use calipers on them - it's just really hard to get a good reading!
