Insurance for International First Class

As most of you probably know, you can't insure international first class packages with the post office. I read about shipsurance in the etsy forums awhile back. It is an outside insurance company that will insure first class international packages.

I had a bridemaid order going to England and the only way to get insurance through the post office was to send express mail which is around $30. I didn't feel like eating $30. Shipsurance charges $1.50 per $100 coverage. That was a no brainer.

Good info Michele. I ship a lot overseas by 1st class and just take the chance, so far so good, knock on wood, but now I have an option.

That IS great to know, because I have eaten that cost before... Was not happy to pay $32.00 to ship overseas.

Gail, I'm like you, I usually mail first class and hope for the best. This was a pretty big order though, so I didn't want to take any chances.

Jeanne, I agree, $32 is a lot of money to eat for postage.
