Sophy asked for a bit on composition. From one of my favorite sites, LightStalking, a great explanation for composition: Golden Rule of composition(Grrr, Windows 8#@!** I can't make the link work for me, just gives me a blank page. So if that's what happens for you just Google LightStalking. There's gotta be a better way with W8.) Some of this may not strictly apply to jewelry photography. But if you keep these in mind it should really improve a photo. (I have my camera set to display a grid when shooting.)

Interesting article. I had not heard of the Golden Triangle. I'll have to explore my camera a bit more. Sometimes it displays a grid, sometimes it doesn't.
