Sept/Oct 2023 Challenge - Fall Harvest

Please forgive me for being late posting our next challenge. No excuses from me; I just haven't done it until now.

Your challenge this time is "Fall Harvest." I have posted some photos below to give you inspiration with their subject matter and their gorgeous, rich fall jewel tones. You may use any materials you wish and interpret the theme in a way that makes you think of a Fall Harvest.

Please post your completed challenge piece(s) to this thread by October 15ish.

I have a plan, but can someone tell me where I put the baggie from Nitta? I distinctly remember having seen it in one spot, but it's not there. Did I carry it through the flat for no reason at all? o.O

Ummmmm, I would ask der Daken where the baggie is. I'll bet he knows...

It's funny you say that because I actually found an earring the other day (no, not one of "those" earrings). I had really doubted my head, but found it tucked away very neatly under his play rug.

I'm tellin' ya he knows where the missing bag is.

Cat, your story about the missing earring found under his rug reminds me of the time I was putting together a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle and when it neared completion, I realized that one piece was missing. I looked everywhere, but could not find it. Eventually, I took the puzzle apart and put it back in the box.

A couple of months later, I found it all chewed up and hidden in the bushes in our backyard. Yep, one of the dogs had stolen it, snuck outside with it and hid it with her other toys.

As a kid I played "Weltreise" with my friend, you have to take a trip around the world and it's supposed to teach you basic geography, countries and capitals. I always liked it. Somehow we lost Mombasa along the way until we found her honorary granddad's dachshund had stolen Mombasa and chewed it up. We imagined how the real people in Mombasa were frightened by huge dog teeth coming down on them out of nowhere.

That last sentence made me laugh out loud! It reminded me of the tv series Land of the Giants. If you are curious, Cat, there are probably videos of it out there on the internet.

Ha! I was just looking for a particular set of beads for this challenge, and cannot find them though I did see them recently. 🙄🙄🙄

What is happening?
I'll put together another search team for mine tomorrow (meaning der Dekan will want to follow me everywhere and put his big head into every drawer, nook, shelf etc. I'm searching in).

Still haven't found them. It's driving me absolutely nuts.

I actually had the same dilemma just a few weeks ago. I knew I had some beads that were a perfect color match to a pendant I'd made and I looked everywhere for them. Then I went back and looked in all those same places a second and a third time until my studio was a shambles. Nothing. I was about to use different beads, but I wasn't happy about it, and then I looked in a box I'd put a lot of half finished projects in and set aside. There they were! I'm not sure why there were in there everything else was projects in various stages of completion and I'd never planned to use those beads in any of them. Weird.

What I was looking for was exactly where I had been looking at least five times. Only I thought it was in a box, but I had taken the paper baggie out of the box and I simply didn't see the baggie for what it was!!

Yup. That's how it always goes.

So glad you found the missing beads, Cat. Not only will you now have them for your project, but you can stop making yourself crazy over it!
