This week's Oldies but Goodies Theme Challenge is BUTTERFLIES (it has been four years since we last did that). I have seen a very cool video about hatching moths the other day (the lady saved a moth who laid eggs before she took off and since she cared for them, 180 of 210 or so actually hatched). Butterflies are the more obvious choice for jewelry, though Go through your stash and post a picture in this thread that pertains to the theme. It can be something you made yesterday or something you made five years ago. We encourage you to post as many items as you want. Can't make it much simpler. We hope to see a lot of creative pics of your BUTTERFLY jewelry. We'd love to have more members participate in this easy, fun challenge. Won't you join us? The Oldies but Goodies Challenges will last two weeks, so you have enough time to share your items! To make it easier, the end date is in the subject now.

Your butterflies are keepsakes Dawn. I was going to say I would choose the top one, but then I looked at the white one, and then the Aqua colored one on the black background...in short - all of them!

It's very hard to pick a favorite because they are all so beautiful, but the black and white one has always been special to me because it shows that you don't need color to show a butterfly's beauty.

That's a lovely thought, Cat. Thank you! That's a very old photo, my skills have improved so much since then. One of these days, I'll take some new photos of that piece. Dawn

One of my first pieces was a giant butterfly, or something that looks like it. I made it with Alpaca and copper A Silver gold butterfly

Your butterflies are fantastic, Irith! I don't believe I've seen either one of those before; love them both, but I think there is something really special about the first one because it was one of your first creations. Dawn

Beautiful and very unique, Irith! My favorite is the second one, I like how you have done the wings. Here are some of mine and I'll spare you the bead embroidered ones 2019 2017, after a friend saw the first one, she asked me to make a tiny one all in black 2011, a friend saw the first butterfly ever that I had made and asked me to make these small ones with "flowers" that she could put on different chains. 2010, my first butterfly in onyx and sterling silver

OMG! You ladies have managed to amaze me again. Dawn your painted butterflies are just incredible. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite, but if I had to it would probably be the Luna Moth. Irith, I’ve never seen these. I love them both and would gleefully wear them. Cat your wire butterflies are fabulous. I think my favorite is the second one, but I love them all. Strangely enough, I have no butterflies in my repertoire. I think I need to fix that!

Cat, what a magical variety of butterflies! You inspire me to make a whole collection of my own! The top one is somehow the one I would choose. When I take anoter look later, I may decide on a different one.
