I have come to face the fact that I need more magnification than my reading glasses offer to see finer detail. Recently, I did a quick review on Amazon for jewelers type magnified eyewear. There are a lot of features, options, and styles I had not considered. Do you have favored or recommended enhanced vision gear to wear while working on jewelry? I look forward to your replies. Brad (if this is the incorrect location to post these kind of questions please correct me)

In Chit Chat the question might have drowned in our daily threads, so I have moved it to "Bead with me". The name is a bit deceptive, it's just around jewelry making in general, so I think the topic fits in here best. I can't answer the question itself, though. I wear bifocals which drive me nuts when working on something, so I often take them off and work without glasses. It works for now, but stresses out my eyes as I also work at the computer at lot. I know that one of the goldsmiths in our town who works publicly - meaning not in a background workshop - is wearing a a head loupe, but not everyone likes wearing one of those (or has the head for it ). This thread on Ganoksin was rather interesting orchid.ganoksin.com/t/magnifying-bifocals/29169/9I wonder what my optometrist would say about that.

Now I do not need magnifyig glasses for my work, although I wear binoculars, I find they disturb me and remove them and instead I wear large plastic potective glasses.

I use something similar to this. Works great if I'm simply sitting and working, but it's not so great if I need to be getting up and down and moving about my studio to do different tasks. I had some magnifiers that clipped to my glasses, but found then uncomfortable. I might have to get wearable headgear at some point, but for now my little magnifying light works for me. Dawn
