The other day an FB memory reminded me that it had been seven years since I made my last hedgehogs. I have an FB friend who has been going through some tough times. Due to allergies, she has an African hedgehog called Sansa for a pet and she commented how much she likes my hedgehogs when I shared the memory. So I thought I'd do something nice and said that I would like to make one for her. She is 1 3/4 inch long and less than 1 inch high and my first hedgehog with ears (WHY did I never give them ears??). Also I had to figure out all over again how to make her and made a small change. Her eyes are black onyx, her nose is a freshwater pearl.

Awwww, she's so sweet. Your friend is going to love her! Me, I love the ears, the onyx eyes and the pearl nose. Dawn

Thank you, Dawn! She's small enough so Sansa won't get jealous

Very pretty hedge hog. I remember you used to make them. Seems so long ago..

Thank you, Irith! I found the blogpost I had written about the first two. I had completely forgotten that I had been challenged to make a wire crochet sculpture and hedgehogs were my first choice for that.
Now I got a message from someone asking if I could make a small pendant like that.

A hedge hog pendant is a wonderful and very unusual idea. Especially for animal lovers! I believe you can attach your signature behind it somehow (perhaps by gluing a tiny piece of imprinted metal or lacqured cardboard with your signature?)

I don't think glue would hold on well to the wire crochet, but that's okay (I still keep the idea for the charms for the dolls in mind, though!). Irith, I never asked, do you put a logo on your jewelry? I finished the pendant now and the lady (a German expat in the USA) said she likes it so much, she also wants a pair of earrings! Now that's a tough one, you know me Here's the little one in my hand. He's 1 1/2 inch long, so even smaller than the other one and I changed the design a little to adapt to the size.

Ha. Three hedgehogs finished since last night, the sculpture and those for the earrings. Now I definitely only want to see real ones for a while! I'll share the set when I have put on the findings, can't spare you that, sorry.

Wow, Cat, that's awesome! Maybe Sansi will think it's a baby hedgehog and try to adopt it. Dawn
