I have decided to keep the dragonfly pin as it's the first piece I have made with sequins and the body is not long enough, anyway I still have a bunch of bugle beads that I never knew how to use, though, so I made this pendant and I'm thinking about making something similar in other colors, too.

I LOVE it! Really beautiful work, Cat. The shimmer from the sequins is exquisite. I can just imagine how it sparkles when the light hits it. Dawn

Thank you, Dawn! I had initially planned something different instead of the grass stalk (it's a Herringbone rope), but it seems I'm too dumb to press some metal with pliers so the wire inside won't slip out. What I like about the sequins is how the clear picks up the shimmer of the beads around it.

The dragonfly is soooooo pretty! I am loving the sequins. I have some sequins stashed away that I’ve never really figured how to use. One of those things purchased on a whim.
I am really missing working on something.

Thank you, Michelle! I'm sure you will be able to use your sequins in some bead embroidery once you have the time again.
I have to admit that it felt good to make something and der Dekan actually behaved quite nicely (he slept most of the time or harrassed Gundel). Nevertheless, it took me three days to get this done because he obviously wouldn't sleep for hours and hours. I didn't just put the backing on, but also a light cardboard, so the dragonfly wouldn't be floppy, and sewing through that took me quite a bit longer than it would have without the cardboard.
