I have started ripping up pieces, some of them really old, some of them more like "what did I think at that time?" Most of them had already been inactive. I deleted pictures from Flickr and deviantART and of course from my own folders, deleted them from my inventory and "drawer box file" and from my "new" extra inventory aka the copied and pasted listings. I'm exhausted o.O That brings me back to Michelle's thread about bead organization because I now have a lot of different loose beads and not enough baggies or whatever to sort them *lol* The cabs are so much easier, off into the drawer they go. Are there still people who remember the Ugly Bead Challenge? I'm thinking about a Nice Bead Challenge and just ship off stuff to you ladies

Oooooooo, the ugly bead challenge was so much fun! Even though we are such a small group, we should do another challenge even it's nothing more than an earring challenge. Speaking of sorting and organizing, I'm exhausted just thinking about unpacking all of my jewelry stuff and sorting through it when I set up my new studio. I'm looking at it as a chance to start over and get rid of things I haven't used or needed for a long time. Hey, Cat. You can always send your nice beads to me! Dawn

We also had the lampwork challenge with beads from Nicole!
Girl, you are so on my list already. I'm just waiting for the PO box info. How do you get rid of stuff, though? I can't throw beads or tumbled rocks away. The bead gods are going to punish me!

Oh yea, that was really fun too! And, the pendant challenge, don't forget that one! Yay, I'm on your list! Well, I have a PO box, but I need to double check the ZIP code. I think the code for physical addresses is one off from what is used for PO boxes. Oh, I can get rid of ugly beads - no problem. Thrift stores love them cuz the crafters love them. Sometimes I just want to return them to the earth, so I throw them out in the yard under the trees. I think the bead gods would like that! Dawn

The pendant challenge must have been before my time, at least I don't remember it.
I have thought about doing that with the quartz rocks I have. We don't have trees, though, and I'm afraid our "house gardeners" would return them to me! I don't think we even have a real thrift shop here anymore, except for the small Caritas one, maybe I could try that sometime.

Ha! These challenges sound like a lot of fun! Back when I was in a group of quilters - also via the Internet - we did an ugly fabric challenge. It was so much fun receiving and using other people’s “ugly” fabrics.

That does sound like fun, Michelle. If I knew how to sew, I've love to try to make something pretty out of a piece of ugly fabric. Dawn

I have too many beads now. I don't find any of them are ugly!
They are all divided into boxes and I do not wish to part with them at all. Perhaps some day in the future my grand daughters will know what to do with them.

For that challenge I got big googly blue eye beads and stone beads that looked like vases. I really didn't know what to do with them!

I’m up for any kind of challenge anyone wants to do. 😄
I know with my beads, they never seem to make it back it into the container they came in. I need to look at my many pieces that need to be taken apart….. But I’m afraid I wouldn’t know where to put those beads either.

Long ago I've taken apart beads of torn/broken necklaces which belonged to my mom so I can make new necklaces for myself. I hate to sell anything that was owned by her, so thank you for reminding me. Maybe this weekend I will finally get to it.
If there would be a challenge I would be glad to participate.

Nice that you have some of your mom’s necklaces, Irith. I will be eager to see what you make from them.

My Mom gave me some things for ripping up, too. I get it, Irith, most of them are so special that I haven't even been able to rip them up yet because there are memories of her - and some of my grandma - wearing them.

I got ugly plastic beads in the ugly bead challenge... I have some jewelry that belonged to my mother and my grandmother; some I have taken apart, but the more special pieces that I know meant a lot to them I've left alone. It doesn't feel right to rip apart their favorite jewelry. Dawn

Well, even though we're such a small group, it seems there is interest in doing a challenge. How does everyone feel about oversea shipping? It can be expensive although not too bad if the package is small and light. Dawn
