SO I am trying to make a collection with my acrylic pours. I have been experimenting with them on and off for awhile. I have a few hundred (at least) of acrylic drips that I have domed with resin. They look like boxes of marbles and I love them. But I am having a hard time coming up with ideas to use them. Here are two ideas that I think I like. the earring is my fourth or fifth attempt at bead embroidery. I am only using felt and don't think it is really adequate. Not sure how sturdy it would be so might try to get some of that stiff stuff to try out The frame pieces are simple but striking I think. Not quite sure how I feel about either yet though.

I like both. The little painting in the frame is so cute and the colors are beautiful. I also like the earring a lot. I think you will be happier if you try Stiff Stuff because it really makes a differene to normal felt. Glass beads are heavy and normal felt will not necessarily hold that weight in way you want it. I shared a video in this thread (I haven't tried it myself), it's about how to stiffen felt yourself. To me, bead embroidery seems a really good way to use your paint cabs if you don't want to wire wrap them.

I sketched out a beaded paisley with a paint dot as an eye and I like the idea but feel I need the stiff felt to do it justice. I might become a beader after all

Dawn Thanks Dawn, I hope I come up with something good. I was struggling with these when I quite working over a year ago. Here I pick it right back up I am determined to find something to do with these beautiful pieces though. I have so many and I just keep getting more because I love pouring so much LOL

I've seen what you have posted in your FB page! Stunning! Thanks Irith. I have made several pendants using trays. i have finally come to accept the fact that trays are a great help with these. I do want to come up with some other ideas though that don't rely on the trays. Hopefully I will figure out a few designs

These acrylic creations are fabulous, Diane! I really like them both. I could certainly see myself wearing both of them. I am thinking of trying one of the techniques in the video Cat posted. I just need to get some felt, but I already have the Mod Podge.

I just need to get some felt, but I already have the Mod Podge. I did the elmers glue with 2 parts water, one part glue, the night before last. and it is STILL not dry. But it seems the places where it is starting to dry are getting stiff. I am impatiently waiting. I found a piece of sparkle felt and thought, why not? If this works I may have to make several pieces in different colors. Though I do tend towards black a lot. Right now my biggest problem is the only beading thread I can find is a light brown. Not a good color for what I want to do. I need to dig more. I know I have more colors!

Do you have a black marker or Sharpie? You can always color that thread until you have more thread or find the other colors.
Can the long drying have to do with humidity? I'm looking forward to hearing about your end results.

It is cold here and I think that's the problem with the drying. i just built a fire and i will set that over near it to benefit from the heat.

OK so I dug around and I found three more spools of beading thread, none of them black but I'll take dark blue Close enough since I want elements of blue in the piece. The felt dried up nicely and it is very stiff. here is a picture of it with quite a bit of beads on it and it is holding up just fine I was able to get the beads bezelled and was really happy with the results. Now I just need to finish the design and I will see what i think. Bead embroidery is so beautiful
