I had this fossilized coral heart almost from when I started out. As much as I had liked the original wire crochet setting, I didn't like the golden wire that I had used, so I ripped it up a while ago. Yesterday I grabbed it spontaneously and used a black resin rose to turn it into a gothic bead embroidery pendant.

I LOVE this, Cat! So pretty! And I always prefer Goth inspired hearts. 😄

Thank you, Michelle! I don't make or use hearts all that often, but I love fossilized corals, so I had to have that one back then. No idea what my plan with the rose had been originally.

I have a couple of hearts passed along as gifts. They are slightly imperfect, and one is good sized. I’ve been pondering about whether it would be too big for a necklace.

I've seen hearts in many sizes. I wonder what you mean by too big. Some people like big pendants and as a jewelry maker I enjoy making them more than just small ones. They enable me to play more with their form, texture, etc.

Okay, Irith and Cat! I like that idea. I’ll get them posted this evening. (Getting ready to head to my husband’s physical therapy.)

Ooooh...one of my favorite color combos. Beautiful work, Cat! That was a great way to use the rose and that fossil is so pretty! Dawn
