I finished my first bead embroidered necklace, except that I need to redo the bail. I had initially thought to do a brick stitch bail, but I got in a hurry so did this simple three strand. I do like it but it’s badly made. The strands are too loose and I accidentally added a pink bead. 🤣 But I’m pretty pleased with it overall.

It's beautiful and impressive, Michelle! Well done. I can't wait seeing more of your bead embroidery, it definitely looks like you are hooked. Have you already picked an outfit to go with it? I wouldn't worry about the pink bead. Do you know the term spirit beads? If not, click through to the blog post.

Beautiful, Michelle! I don't see the pink bead, so it must be in an inconspicuous place. I love the colors!
I agree, it can be your spirit bead!

Thank you so much ladies!
Ha! Spirit bead - I love it. I actually only noticed the “spirit bead” on the photos. Otherwise, I didn’t see it either. As for outfits, Cat, I had to order a top. LOL!

I don't know how I missed this thread. Well, yes I do, I'm more scattered than usual these days. That turned out beautifully, Michelle! You should be very proud of what you've created; it's really lovely. Cat's spirit bead reminds me of something I've heard about the rug weavers in the Middle East. They purposefully weave a wrong colored thread into their work as a reminder that nothing made by human hands is perfect. I believe I've also heard the same thing about Native Americans and their basket weaving. Dawn

And Native Americans put a "lazy line" into their weavings for the same reason, yes.

Thanks so much, Dawn!
Interesting reasoning behind the weaving of the wrong color thread into the rugs in the Middle East - and Native American weavers. But your point is well taken!

Thanks so much, Dawn! Interesting reasoning behind the weaving of the wrong color thread into the rugs in the Middle East - and Native American weavers. But your point is well taken! This is the explanation I received from the shop owner for a mistake in the handmade carpet I bought a few years ago. Otherwise the quality is rather high. Even my cat didn't succeed in ruining it.
