Beautiful stones and beads! I have a dark blue strand like that. I love the color, but haven't had an opportunity to use them yet. To add to the definition of "stash", I also tend to think of it as treasure that we often will get out, look at and put it away again because the things in the treasure are so pretty that we don't want to part with them so we never get around to using anything in the stash. At least, that's how my stash seems to work! I am going to start packing up my studio soon for our move and I think that will be a good time for me to take photos of my stash of stones. Once I do that, I will post them here. Dawn

How lovely! Looking forward to seeing more of your stash! I've realised that I've got loads of cabochons, stones and beads and things that I bought the last time I was learning jewellery making. I've got 3 in mind that I'd love to get some opinions on what I could do with them. I'll try and take some photos later this week, now that my children have gone back to school!
Good luck with your move!

Thank you! We are really excited about our move. We bought the house in September and have been doing some renovations/improvements to get it ready to move into and at the same time are getting our house ready to sell. Back in September, the move seemed like so far away and now here we are about six weeks until move day! With so much upheaval and traveling back and forth (the new house is about 100 miles from here), my jewelry making has been pretty much non-existent so I am looking forward to getting back to it too. Here are the promised photos of my treasures of cabs that I bought the first time I set out on my jewellery making journey! The first one is a tiny sapphire cut stone... I didn't even know I had this! I happened to be going through some old invoices, trying to confirm the name of some stones I had, and came across an invoice for a sapphire. So I've just been out to the workshop and hunted around and found it... That's going to be fun for trying to learn some more stone setting! The second photos shows a lapis lazuli, 3 black onyx cabochons, a bag of sea shell pieces from New Zealand (souvenir from my sister! I've never been... yet!) and the three at the bottom are orthoceras, I think! It's the orthoceras that I'd love some ideas what to do with! When I bought them, I thought I would set them in a bezel, but that's quite a lot of metal on the back, I guess. And also, I was planning to make them into one necklace. Now that I've had 10 years to think about it, I think that might be quite heavy and perhaps splitting them into different necklaces / bracelets and perhaps using wire wrapping, might be a better fit! Love to hear some of your thoughts! Sami

Lovely! That lapis really sticks out to me with its gorgeous blue.
I know what you mean about the orthoceras being heavy and agree that not using them together may be a good idea. They would be beautiful for wire wrapping, but also for wire netting, for example.
