My husband’s latest hobby is 3d printing. He is only a couple of weeks into it, but I’ve benefited already. He made this seed bead divider tray for me:

How cool is that? I love it! Michelle, you need to design some jewelry components for him to print out. You could use them in your jewelry designs! I know 3-D printing is in its infancy, but it has so much future potential. I hope that some day we can print in 3-D with metal. Dawn

Wouldn’t metal 3D printing be awesome? If I remember correctly, I think Dan said there are machines that can print with metals, but it’s still kind of experimental.

It is wonderful to have a husband who can make things that are useful to you. Printing by 3d could be very helpful , please let us know what comes next:)

3D printing with metal is still expensive and takes a while, it seems. Have you heard of Shapeways? I have seen pieces on deviantART by jewelry artisans made through Shapeways.
