Not the mushroom jasper, Michelle, sorry. I haven't been working with wire much lately, so like the last pendant I started this one (no bail yet) with some wire wrapping, then choosing a stone, the faux amber cab. The result has been a surprise to myself as I have no idea where the idea came from and didn't know for a while where this would be ending. Now, however, I'm sure that I caught a fairy mouse

I love it, Cat! Beautiful and adorable! (Ha! I never know where my wire wrapping and stones will lead me either.) Fairy mouse. Perfect!

Are your fingers sore?

Thank you, Michelle and Gayle! I was very happy about this one because it makes me think I haven't lost my personal touch and style completely yet. Gayle, the hardest part about working with wire now is holding the wire while wrapping long strands, my left thumb and wrist hurt more quickly and I have to take much more breaks than I was used to. I worked on this one on and off for more than a day, often just looking at it during the process to wait for my muse telling me where to go

Cat, that is exquisite! I love the eye and the leaves(?) that go around it. There is so much detail in this piece that I could spend a couple of hours studying it. Bravo! Dawn

Thank you, Dawn!
First I thought about making a feathered something and add even more feathers, then I thought of an eye, and then I had that agate slice sitting next to me whose shape suddenly reminded me of a mouse, so that made me think woods which led to leaves instead of feathers, it obviously couldn't be a real mouse with that eye and a green body, so that's when I thought woods, leaves, and mouse together -> fairy mouse which then led to the scrolls and swirls. Also - you can't really see it in this picture - the two wires that hold the faux amber in the back shine through. Usually I hate that, but in this case I find it makes the eye more alive almost as if there's light caught inside.
