I can’t remember if I shared all of the ornaments somewhere here in the forum, but here is the full set:

I love the variety of colors you made, Michelle. I think an entire tree decorated in nothing but your ornaments would be stunning! Dawn

Mine is done. Just have to polish it with steel wool, photo and post. That will come later after breakfast and shower. Dawn

Here is my piece. Since we're at the new house, all I have with me is tools and wire, so I knew whatever I did would be made out of wire. I was browsing youtube videos one night and saw this tutorial for snowflakes. I really liked the look and decided to give it a try. While this piece has plenty of flaws, it was my first attempt and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I would love to do this again to make a pair of earrings by making smaller snowflakes. This pendant measures 2.25 inches in height (including the loop) and 1.75 inches wide. I guess they wouldn't really need to be made smaller for earrings now that I think about it. They'd just be big, dangly earrings! The tutorial called for 22g wire which I did not have so I used 20g. Honestly, I think a snowflake made out of 22g would be pretty fragile, but that's just me. Lots of people use 22g; I just like sturdier pieces as I wouldn't want it to be damaged by being bent out of shape due to rough handling. It is supposed to have a cluster of crystals in the center, but I do not have any with me so I left them out. I kind of like the open space. Anyway, here it is. After it was finished, I darkened it with LOS and then I took steel wool to it to bring out the color and to give it a bit of shine: And, here is a link to the video from Fantasia Elegance. This gal has generously posted a bunch of them and I'm going to check out her channel in more detail. Dawn

That's really pretty, Dawn! It would make great earrings, smaller or like this! I would never be able to get the parts so uniform.

Thank you, Cat! My first loop was quite wonky, but after that, I got the hang of it. I have a feeling if you tried to make something like this it would be perfectly uniform. I've seen your work, lil' missy! Dawn

You haven't seen the heaps of wire going into the trash, Dawn!

HaHa! You should roll it all into a ball and call it a free form pendant, Cat! Dawn

The snowflake is awesome, Dawn! I agree, 22g does seem like it would be a bit fragile.

Thanks, Michelle! Yes, 22g would be easier to work with but the resulting snowflake would be kinda flimsy. Which would be ok for earrings as they don't generally get hard use, but for anything else I wouldn't trust it. Dawn
