One shoe is done! (Unless I decide the tongue needs a bit of embellishment as well, but that depends on the shoelaces I'll use) And my employee of the month, Hannah Needle. Do you think I'm a bad boss?

LOVE! Just fantastic, Cat. How many hundreds of beads do you estimate to be on the shoe? That needle looks quite mangled! How are your hands/fingers feeling? Dawn

Thank you, Dawn! I weighed both shoes. According to the weight per bead from the Miyuki site there are about 9,000 beads in the shoe which I sewed on two beads, sometimes one bead at a time. I've had crooked needles before and I broke them like crazy on the second side of the shoe, even more than on the first side - maybe a bad batch - but Hannah is special I was amazed she didn't break! Towards the end I had to take a lot of breaks, but that's because it's tough to get through the heel, and I often had to pull the needle out several times because I didn't find the right spot. I have got used to the poking, but my thumbs needed the rest every, now and then.

WOW, Cat, 9,000 beads! That's wild and amazing - it's hard to even imagine it. I think you should have Hannah matted and framed and hang her on a wall. She (and you) deserve the tribute! Dawn
