I just watched a documentary - yes, another one - about the production of the album "Bridge Over Troubled Water". I love that song. Afterwards they showed Simon and Garfunkel's Concert at the Central Park, and once again I thought that I'm very much a ballad person. I like listening to swing and rock and pop, but ballads make me happy - and sometimes even make me tear up although I'm not sad. Obviously they are touching something inside me.
So, for today I'd love you to share one of your favorite ballads with me
Hubby is a HUGE S & G fan. I think he has every album they ever made.
I'm not sure if this is a ballad either and it's light hearted (does a ballad have to be serious or sad to be a ballad?), but it reminds me of carefree childhood days when I hear it.
Cat and Caroline, not sure if you are familiar with The Beverly Hillbillies, but it's an old show from the 60's about the Clampetts, a poor backwoods family from the hills of the Ozark Mountains, who move to posh Beverly Hills, California after striking oil on their land. The show had an ensemble cast featuring Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer Jr. as the Clampetts.
