I'm with Michelle. Having to perform in public would be my version of hell.
However, I've always thought that Karen Carpenter never got the respect she deserved. Her singing voice was near perfect and if I could sing, I'd want to sound like her. It was tragic that she died so young; she should have had many more years of creating music ahead of her. I often wonder if she would have left the sappy love songs behind and moved on to different types of music had she lived.

Dawn, I loved Karen Carpenter's voice. I watched a documentary about it just two weeks ago or so and it made me so sad. Actually I like the sappy love songs because I think her voice is giving them something special, but you are right, I also wondered what else she would have done.
