I haven't had a hot fudge sundae in a long time, but when I do, I like the kind of hot fudge sauce that hardens when it hits the cold ice cream. I also like my sundaes pretty simple - vanilla ice cream, hot fudge sauce (sometimes I'll have caramel sauce instead of chocolate), a few nuts and a single cherry. Hold the whipped cream, I'm not a big fan of it and ice cream together.
How do you like your sundaes? (you do not have to limit yourself to the hot fudge variety)
We don't call them sundaes, but "ice cream goblets" because they come in glasses with a goblet shape and you don't choose toppings. You have a "strawberry goblet" or "spaghetti ice cream" or a "fruit goblet" or something like that, and often ice cream parlors have their own special choices among the popular ones. If you google the word "Eisbecher", you'll know what I mean.
I rarely eat ice cream, if I have it, I usually take "ice cream coffee" which is just cold coffee with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top. In rare cases I'll have something with a bit of alcohol.
It's ice cream made to look like spaghetti with tomato sauce. Vanilla ice cream pressed with a Spätzle machine with a strawberry sauce and white chocolate shavings for the "cheese" A big favorite with kids and probably the best known ice cream dessert here in Germany.
