It's been a banner year for baby animals around our house this spring and summer. We have fawns, bunnies and all kinds of birds.
This little guy was born near our house and will be a month old tomorrow:
And, this young Cooper's hawk recently left the nest. We had some pretty rough landings in the beginning, but he seems to be getting the hang of it now. He has a sibling who is a few days behind. They have been practicing their flying skills around the house, so much so, that I have temporarily covered the kitchen windows with newspaper. Not the entire window, just a square in the center.
For me personally, the fawn is adorably cute. I would never call the hawk cute, but it is definitely regal.
Besides puppies and kittens, which baby animals do you find to be the cutest?
I can’t recall ever seeing a baby critter that I didn’t think was cute - even the homely opossums. Baby kittens are my all time favorite, but back when my dad had cattle the baby calves were adorable. Just frisky for being alive. As for wild critters? I’m going to say raccoons.
Yeah, I'm with Cat and Caroline. Every baby animal I see is the cutest ever. Besides kittens and puppies, I love baby pandas, baby great cats, the baby giraffe that was all over the internet a while back, etc. Basically, show me a baby (including a baby human) and I'm going to squeee.

Homely?? (I'm a big opossum fan and wish we had them here)
A lot of people here tend to find the adults pretty fierce. I like how they hiss like cats. Many years ago we lived out on 60 acres. We had outside cats and they always had a dish of dry food sitting outside our siding glass door. If they didn’t finish it, an opossum took to coming around and finishing it off. I named him Arthur, but have no idea if it was a he or she. If I opened the door to get a better look, Arthur would back up, hissing all the way.
I know there are people who don't like them, but I do love them and the babies are so cute. I think a lot of people have a problem with their tails. My California friend had one in her back garden and he also loved the cat food. He also went up on the neighbor's roof, though, which brought him very close to my friend's kitchen window, so we could give him food that way if there were too many cats around for him. He was adorable.
