It's coincidence that Dawn and I show macrame almost at the same time. While she made her anklets, I still had to fight with the wire to make my knots look regular. This is the first time it worked, only joining the ends was tough, so I hid them with a bead for a better look.

Thank you, Michelle! For those who remember Angie from the old days, she had once made a pair of silver macrame earrings that I was totally in love with. The idea of trying it myself eventually stayed with me. It was finally revived because my sister used some cord I had given her for macrame bracelets and at the same time I got a slightly used macrame board at a destash for very little money. I thought sis would like it, but then had to keep it

Love it, Cat! How funny that we'd both take up macrame at the same time. I was working on a wire weave ring a few months ago that had a similar pattern, but I never liked how it looked as I had difficulty keeping the weave even and the same all the way around. Your wire looks perfect! Dawn

This was my seventh attempt or so, Dawn, so I'm very glad you noticed that I finally got better at holding the size of the knots, thank you! I have a spool of 22 gauge copper wire that I hardly ever used and thought it might work for this, but I really have to pull steadily and be extremely careful. It will probably take more practice to get good at it. I learned the knot from a video tutorial and the artisan also makes wire bezels like this, so maybe I'll give that a try as well.

Well, your practice is paying off. Funny, I have a couple of spools of 22 gauge copper that I doubt I'll ever use. It's too flimsy for some things and too big for others. I'm glad you found a way to use your 20 gauge. Dawn

Oh my, that looks really good. I love how you push the boundaries with your wire work. I bet this would work really well as a bangle. Maybe with beads on.

Thank you, Caroline. I would think a bracelet needs a little stronger wire and I still have to check on how to add beads that I put on the holding wire/s. I didn't have the patience yet to watch another tutorial, but it's on my list.

Very beautiful ring. I can see how difficult it must have been to deal with the wires.
