This tumbled rock - any idea what kind of stone it is? - has been my nemesis for a while. I always liked it, but never managed to find a good way to use it. The brooch is slightly irregular to give it an organic feel and because the stone is irregular as well. I'm reminded of a coral reef, maybe because the stone looks like a shell and the spacer beads look like sea anemones to me?

Beautiful, Cat! It definitely reminds me of a coral reef. Good call!

Ooooo, Cat, that is gorgeous! I love the colors you used and the continuation of the pattern in the stone on the bezel. I want to say it looks like some type of fossil which I guess is what coral would be. Dawn

Thank you, Gayle and Dawn! Dawn, that may be another reason it reminds me of a coral reef, because of fossilized corals with their flower like pattern!

Cat, The work you did around the rock with the beads is a perfect match. Looks so natural!
