This was my second attempt at bead embroidery. I've had this weirdly shaped stone (drilled horizontally at the top) forever. I have tried a few things with it, always ripped it up again. I think what I like best about embroidery is that I feel I can finally use all the stones that would never cooperate with me. In fact I even used a lampwork bead for attempt #3 When I have my backing, I will probably add some dangles ... or not. I honestly can't say yet, but you know how much I love dangles. Now I think I should have got some pin needles with my last order because I'm not sure how this is going to work out as a pendant.

That is gorgeous, Cat! I’m trying to figure out what to do with my dichroic glass. I’ve tried wire-wrapping it, but it is so slick, I’m not having any luck.

Thank you, Michelle! The stone alone always reminded me of a toeless foot (I even made it into a foot with wire crochet toes one time), but I think I may slowly get over that now.
Would Dawn's suggestion with the tape help? I remember I always had the same probleme with wire crochet bezels, but wrapping them is even more difficult in my opinion.

I did finally figure a way to cage the dichroic glass. I think I’m back in business!

Cat, that is simply stunning! I love all the blues which remind me of ice. I can't wait to see what you do with this and what you do with embroidery in the future. And, I must say that I'm sorry for not commenting sooner. I wasn't aware of this thread until today. Dawn

*nudge nudge wink wink* Thank you, Dawn! Wish me luck with sewing the backing on.

I love the combination of Blue and what looks like a white shell. What will the backing be made of?

It's a very light blue and white agate, Irith, thank you! The backing will be ultrasuede. I finished my first bead embroidery pendant today, completely with backing, so this one is going to be next tomorrow.

I decided it will become a brooch because of its shape, I just ordered some pins. There will be some dangles, too (that's what I'm saying at the moment ).
